Carmen Herrera: Lines of Sight

September 2016, New York- The Juan Carlos Maldonado Art Collection is pleased to announce the loan of Untitled, 1948 by Carmen Herrera to the exhibition Carmen Herrera: Lines of Sight, curated by Dana Miller and taking place at the Whitney Museum of American Art from September 16, 2016 to January 9,  2017 and the Kunstsammlung Nordrhein-Westfalen from December 2, 2017 to April 8, 2018.

Carmen Herrera: Lines of Sight is the first museum exhibition of this groundbreaking artist in New York City in nearly two decades. Focusing on the years 1948 to 1978, the period during which Herrera developed her signature style, the show features more than fifty works, including paintings, three-dimensional works, and works on paper.

The Juan Carlos Maldonado Art Collection is excited to contribute to an exhibition whose objective aligns so closely with our own: the appreciation and recognition of the contributions of Latin American artists to a global conversation.
