Homage to Denise René

November 2013, Miami- JCMAC is proud to announce the loan of Penetrable BBL Bleu, 1999 by Jesus Soto to the exhibition Homage to Denise René: Past, Present and Future of a Vision, presented Espace-Expression and on view from December 3, 2013, to March 29, 2014.

The show is a tribute to Denise René (1913-2012), the gallery owner that opened the way to new trends in contemporary art. In November 1944, Denise René founded in Paris an art gallery that became the center of the European artistic avant-garde. Thanks to her, Geometric Abstraction, Op Art and Kinetic Art emerged strongly in the fifties and sixties.

The exhibition Homage to Denise René brings together for the first time in Miami an outstanding display of 80 works by 54 artists including Soto, Crespín, Heurtaux, David Bill, Anne Blanchet, Santiago Torres, Miguel Chevallier, Le Parc, Stein, Tinguely, Zimoun, Pe Lang, Agam y Cruz-Diez, among others.
